Services
The three proceeding modalities dominate my work and are integrated to suit individual expectations, physiological needs, and personal requests.
Swedish Massage - uses long gliding strokes, kneading, and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of muscles in the direction of blood flow toward the heart. This service may be combined with active and passive movements of the joints. It is used to promote relaxation, improve circulation and range of motion, and relieve tension in the muscles.
Deep Tissue Massage - uses slow strokes, direct pressure, and friction across the muscle grain and is effective for the release of chronic muscle tension. It is applied with greater pressure and to deeper layers of muscle than Swedish massage.
Myofascial Work - refers to the manual massage technique for stretching the fascia and releasing bonds between fascia, integument, and muscles with the goal of eliminating pain, increasing range of motion and equilibrioception. Myofascial work usually involves applying shear compression or tension in various directions.
"Fascia is an uninterrupted, three-dimensional web of tissue that extends from head to toe, from front to back, from interior to exterior. It is responsible for maintaining structural integrity." To learn more, please refer to: Wikipedia - Fascia

WV law requires all massage clients to undress to their comfort level by themselves and to be draped (covered) properly while on the premises. West Virginia requires massage therapists to become licensed and that involves rules and regulations set by the state licensure board.
